Who we are

OMAS (Lymm, Warrington) is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. In legal terms, we're the “data controller”. Questions about this policy or your information? Email info@omasuk.co.uk or call 0161 531 3233.

What we collect

Only what you give us when you fill in the Book a Visit, Book a Taster Day, Make a Referral or contact forms. Depending on the form, that can include:

  • Your name, phone number and email address.
  • The name and contact details of the person you're enquiring about or referring.
  • Details about someone's support needs, health, disability, mobility, communication or diet. UK GDPR calls this “special category data”. We only ask for it when it helps us arrange a safe, comfortable visit or place.
  • For professionals making a referral: your organisation and role.

If you pick favourite activities on this site, they're remembered in your own browser so they can fill in the taster day form for you. They stay on your device and only reach us if you send that form.

Why we need it, and our legal basis

We use your details to reply to you, arrange visits and taster days, and handle referrals. For everyday contact details, the legal basis is that you've asked us to take these steps before any arrangement begins (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).

When a form asks about health, disability or support needs, we rely on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)). For referrals made by a professional on someone's behalf, we rely on the condition for providing health or social care (Article 9(2)(h)).

How your message reaches us

When you send a form, it goes securely to the OMAS website, where it is stored for the OMAS team and emailed to us. Only people at OMAS who need it to reply to you can see it. If the website can't be reached, the form opens your own email app instead, and your message travels as a normal email.

We never sell your information or share it with anyone else for marketing.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need to: to reply to you, arrange your visit, keep a record of a referral, and meet any record-keeping rules that apply to OMAS as a care provider. When we no longer need something, we delete it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where the law allows.
  • Object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is what we rely on.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information.
